Chinese Flight Ends Successfully

Chinese astronaut Yang Liwei has returned to earth safely after 14 orbits in the Shenzhou 5 spacecraft, landing only 3 miles from the selected spot in Outer Mongolia. Expect China to carefully analyze the results from this flight, and fly again within 6 months or so.

Astronaut Ed Lu and Cosmonaut Yuri Malenchenko aboard the International Space Station welcomed the flight. Malenchenko commented, "I am glad to have somebody else in space instead of me and Ed," while Lu, whose parents are from China, greeted the flight in Chinese. It is possible in future that Shenzhou capsules may visit the ISS.
