Yes, He Is.

The sad news is that the President of the United States is, not at all a fool, but rather an utterly unprincipled coward.

Well, yes. And he's always been one, skating through life supported by his father's friends. An underachieving bully in college, an entirely unsuccessful businessman, an unprincipled drunk, a rich boy who skipped Vietnam and then skipped out of much of his National Guard real life, George Bush would be flipping burgers, not running a country (into the ground, I might add). Without his enablers, that's precisely where he'd be.
