Let's Get a Novelist to Testify!

What with Michael Crichton testifying on global warming to a Senate committee, perhaps they could follow with Alistair Reynolds testifying about space travel. Problem being, of course, that Reynolds is a sane and sound man (a working scientist for ESA, in fact), where Crichton has for a long while been a nut. Now a global-warming denier, he's been an AIDS denier previously, stentoriously announcing in the 80s that AIDS was not a problem for straight people. His views on AIDS have been pretty much forgotten now (you'd probably need a LEXIS/NEXIS subscription to dig them up online at this point), but they illuminate the unsoundness of his beliefs on global warming.
